TCL Sues Samsung Over Mini LED Claims for M-Series TVs
TCL sued Samsung in a Los Angeles federal court on September 1, 2026, alleging that Samsung falsely advertised some televisions as using Mini LED technology, according to ChainCatcher. The lawsuit claims Samsung marketed its M-series televisions as Mini LED products even though the sets came from a repurposed standard LED product line and did not contain the related Mini LED technological advances. TCL also said it outsold Samsung in Mini LED televisions in the United States from 2023 through 2025. The complaint alleges that Samsung introduced the M-series at prices below TCL’s lowest price and used false labeling, harming TCL’s market share. TCL is seeking an injunction preventing Samsung from using the Mini LED designation, along with damages in an unspecified amount. Samsung said it would defend itself fully and maintained that the quality and accuracy of its product descriptions were sound. The report was written by Blake Brittain.
